Printing

The printed sheet is a designed output, not a screenshot of the app.

Most apps print a picture of themselves. Nooks prints a sheet you can take to a shop.

Print on any list, or ⌘P. What comes out is an A4 page laid out for paper:

  • The list's name at 27pt, with the date and an N items · N people line beside it.
  • Items at 16pt with a drawn checkbox: a real box at 0.7pt, not a font glyph that prints as a filled square.
  • Quantities in mono beside the label, because a quantity is what a shopper is actually reading.
  • Three blank rows at the foot, for whatever gets remembered in the shop.

The sidebar, the chrome and the controls do not come with it. Nothing on the sheet is a thing you cannot use on paper.

What is on it

Completed items print too, ticked. A sheet that silently dropped what was already done would be a sheet you cannot check against the trolley.

Long lists

A list longer than a page continues onto the next one, with the title repeating. Items are not split across the fold.
